Yasmine Ghoniem has not been a quiet presence on the Australian interior design scene for the last decade. Before she founded YSG Studio at the beginning of last year, she was one half of design studio Amber Road where – together with her sister, Katy Svalbe – she created interiors for residences, hospitality and public spaces from 2013-2019.

But YSG is an entirely different beast. The studio’s now iconic Budge Over Dover project swept up every major interior design award across the country last year (including ours!) and established the new practice as one of the industry’s leading studios.

In this podcast conversation with host Lucy Feagins, Yasmine talks her many artistic influences, nomadic upbringing, and rather windy path to interior design. It’s a good one!
