The Perfect Architect-Designed Family Home Is On The Market
On The Market
Finding the perfect family home in an inner-city neighbourhood is a nigh-on impossible task, but this house in Kingsville is as close as it gets!
Designed by Olaver Architecture in 2018 for a family of four and their spoodle, Colin, the home is plotted around a central courtyard, which feeds light into all major zones of the house.
‘We decided that we needed to renovate with something focused on maximising the block, exploiting the north facing orientation, and functional and sustainable design,’ explains the vendor.
Large sliding doors connect the generous kitchen and lounge area to the courtyard lawn, with the adults sleeping wing and a study flanking the other two sides (both replete with large windows to capitalise on the view out to the green space).
Every section of the residence has been designed with space in mind. The front portion of the house containing the kids bedrooms can be closed off from the open-plan living room after bed time, and banquette seating has been integrated onto the dining side of the kitchen island bench maximising space in the busiest part of the house.
The palette is clean, minimal and versatile with a focus on moss green upholstery, laminate joinery, caesarstone benchtops, polished concrete floors, timber-framed windows and steel shelving.
‘We’ll miss the beautiful design, the proximity to the local villages, lovely neighbours and the community feel of the area while still so close to the CBD,’ says the current owner.
We don’t doubt it!
133 Empress Street, Kingsville will be sold via auction on Thursday 20th October at 4:00pm See the full listing here.
