This contemporary new display home is being billed as a home of the future – showing what life could be like at one of Melbourne’s most sustainable new developments.

Australian property developer Mirvac is behind The Fabric in Altona North, which will feature more than 500 townhomes and mid-rise apartments once the 11.5-hectare development is completed in a few years. But until then, Mirvac’s new ‘Future Ready Display Home’ offers a look inside the community’s sustainably designed townhomes, showing how small changes to homes can have positive, long-term impacts on the environment.

Like all residences at The Fabric, the innovative display home is fully electric and achieves a 7-star NatHERS rating. It is designed to use 27 per cent less energy annually to heat and cool compared to a standard 6-Star home. It also features energy efficient appliances and rooftop solar panels, and is estimated to deliver a substantial savings to customers on energy bills. If buyers also choose renewable grid power (such as government accredited GreenPower), they can take comfort knowing their home’s energy consumption will be entirely fossil-fuel free.

Mirvac enlisted the help of interior designers Without Studio to curate and style the three-bedroom property. Inside, the abode showcases products from 16 of Mirvac’s partners, who all share in their passion for impactful design.

Visitors can explore furniture from Australian brands like Jardan, Koala, Plyroom, alongside bedding Carlotta & Gee and homewares from local designer Joshua Space. Meanwhile the kitchen is decked out in Smeg appliances, and everyday products by Pleasant State,  The Dirt Company and Great Wrap that have been designed with the environment in mind.

Mirvac’s General Manager of Residential Victoria, Elysa Anderson says tours of the display home will give The Fabric’s existing and future homeowners an opportunity to learn more about sustainable living by seeing it in practice.

‘Mirvac is at the forefront of driving change in housing sustainability initiatives and we understand that home efficiency is more important than ever to homeowners,’ Elysa says. ‘The Future Ready Display Home is part of our long-term goal to improve our residents’ lifestyle by reducing their energy bills and environmental impact.’

With significant savings for your wallet and the planet on offer, there’s never been a better time to opt in to a more sustainable way of living.

Limited opportunities currently remain to purchase within The Fabric’s Jacaranda Precinct. You can inspect the Future Ready Display Home on Saturdays and Sundays 12pm- 1pm by appointment throughout the campaign.
