Innovative new hotel is now Newcastle’s biggest

Little National Newcastle has officially opened its doors, marking the third Little National hotel in Australia. Canberra-based property group DOMA were excited to bring their innovative concept to the New city’s emerging waterfront entertainment precinct.

Situated at 44 Honeysuckle Drive, Little National is centrally located on Newcastle’s thriving harbourfront district, walking distance to the transport interchange and popular restaurant destinations.

DOMA managing director, Jure Domazet, says: “Little National Newcastle marks the third venture hotel in Australia, and stands as a testament to DOMA’s commitment to providing an affordable luxury hotel experience. We have had a presence in the Newcastle region for over 12 years now, so we were thrilled to be able to reconnect with local operators and contribute to Newcastle’s emerging hospitality precinct.”

General manager of Little National Newcastle, Thomas Craigie, says: “I am thrilled to join DOMA’s newest addition to the vibrant city of Newcastle and lead a passionate team dedicated to excellence and guest satisfaction. Aligning with Newcastle Industry Tourism Group, we are eager to contribute to the city’s thriving tourism landscape, focusing on innovative offerings, sustainable practices, and inclusive initiatives.”

It boasts the highest number of guest rooms of any Newcastle hotel (181), all featuring signature Arms of Morpheus super king size beds and designed with cutting-edge technology and innovative features. Curated for both business and leisure travellers who are seeking a ‘home away from home’, Little National apartments offer 36sqm and 37sqm spaces featuring a thoughtfully arranged living room, adjacent to a well appointed kitchenette. Each bathroom is fitted with luxurious Byredo amenities.

Upon arrival, four streamlined reception kiosks are available for check-in and check-out, that allow guests to select rooms based on personal preferences using a hotel floor and room map.

From in-room tablets to motion sensor light controls and smart room thermostats, every aspect is crafted to elevate comfort and convenience. Guests rooms are designed with efficient spatial planning, ensuring that comfort and convenience are seamlessly integrated, with bluetooth connectivity accessible through in-room audio.

Hale Gym is a 24-hour wellness centre located within the hotel. A two-storey atrium space, the member lounge and library is open for all hotel guests to work and unwind, while enjoying panoramic views of the picturesque Newcastle waterfront. These spaces allow for individual leisure and collaborative work settings. Small meeting rooms are available to book, accommodating up to 15 people. Guests in the library can enjoy light meals from the kiosk, with complimentary self service coffee, tea and water.
