Many kitchen remodels start with a simple goal- to improve aesthetics and function. This kitchen, however, needed much more. Interior designer Jeanna Letzring knew her client was in serious need of a complete kitchen remodel that would not only change the look and feel, but also drastically improve the safety of the kitchen for her client’s disabled son.
Jeanna Letzring is the owner of Pinnacle Interior Designs, a full-service interior design firm located in Minneapolis, MN. Jeanna loves to provide services that are affordable to everyone, and her goal is to help homeowner’s dreams come to life. She worked with CliqStudios designer, Minda Sphatt, to create this vibrant, colorful, and accessible kitchen design.
Big Wish List & Creative Problem-Solving
Jeanna spoke about what her client’s project needs were and what it looked like to work with Minda for cabinetry. “We knew we had some very specific objectives; increase storage and counter space, give the client an accessible kitchen for their special needs child, and bring in color. This required removing two walls and relocating some appliances. We provided the design, but also made it clear (to Minda) we were open to any suggestions since there were a lot of asks.”
Overall, the client had four main requests: additional storage, a blue and orange color scheme, a farmhouse sink, and much more countertop space. Before, there were household items stacked on top of the refrigerator, all over the house, and down in the basement causing chaotic clutter. These must-haves were all very important in the evolution of this space to become what they wanted and needed.

Beautifully Revived, Functional, & Safe
By partnering together, Minda and Jeanna were able to give the client some ‘designer features’ while staying within a tight budget. The new kitchen was not only upgraded with beautiful cabinetry, backsplash tile, and appliances, but the cabinetry included features like roll-out trays, a pantry, and a pull-out trash and recycling cabinet.
In the end, this project was a complete success. Collaboration and teamwork pulled off a miracle and long-awaited kitchen remodel for this family.
Jeanna ended with, “These clients have dreamt of a new kitchen since the day they moved in, but medical bills and life took over, and the kitchen went from updated to dilapidated. This remodel was so much more than most, this changed their lives. Before, the kitchen was unsafe for their son and made the task of preparing food (something you do numerous times a day) daunting and depressing. Our client has a renewed sense of excitement about not only her house, but her role as a mother and provider.”.
