Michelle did a great job in the renovation of her Kewanee, Illinois, home. The kitchen cabinets, purchased online from CliqStudios, are painted white Shaker style. It’s a classic look that can be dressed up or down. In this case, the cabinets add a modern touch to an older home, blending well with the original wide window casing and mullion doors. Small black, white and gray tiles add a lively bit of accent as a backsplash, drawing in the black and stainless tones in the appliances, the white of the cabinets, and pale wood tones from the countertops.
A built-in buffet dresses up its corner with an open display shelf shaded by a valance and loaded with colorful bits of decor. Original hardwood floors, refinished in its natural, widely varying tones, take the home back to its roots. Under-cabinet fixtures light up the work zones.
