White Holiday Ceramics

Do you collect certain objects for your Christmas decor? I have different friends that collect nutcrackers, gnomes, specific brand ornaments, etc. My thing has always been white ceramics, I adore them. It started one year when I spied a pair of reindeer in a local shop window. They were too expensive before Christmas but I walked into the shop the day after and they were 50% off so I snagged them. That was eight years ago and I’ve been collecting ever since, one or two new pieces a year.

Of all the decor I own that I store in my Christmas closet under the stairs, the white sculptural ceramic pieces are the ones I look forward to bringing out year after year. I place them around the house and they bring me joy. This year I added a trio of matte bisque trees to my growing collection. You can see them on the bookshelf from my last Christmas village post, together with my set of reindeer.

Perhaps you’d like to begin a collection of your own? White ceramics are popular right now, but I don’t see them as trendy, to me they are timeless. The white feels clean and minimalist and the shapes all celebrate the spirit of the season.
