The teams behind This Old House and Ask This Old House deliver an-all new 11-part weekly series

STAMFORD, Conn. and SAN JOSE, Calif., July 25, 2022—Roku announced today that Roku Original unscripted weekly series “Idea House: Mountain Modern” will premiere exclusively on The Roku Channel this Thursday, July 28. Featuring 11 episodes, a new episode of the series will drop every week through October 13.

Created by the same team that brought viewers “This Old House,” “Idea House: Mountain Modern” features a husband-and-wife-led design-build firm in the Denver, Colorado area that specializes in a style called “Mountain Modern.” These homes connect modern design with building science – they are built to be energy efficient and beautiful

For seven years, “This Old House” worked with new builders to test the latest materials and techniques in the building industry – “Idea House” was what those builds were called.

Idea House: Mountain Modern is a brand-new weekly series that follows the innovative team at a rising Design-Build firm that is changing the game in new construction today. Jared and Amber Phifer, the husband-and-wife-led firm embarks on a 4,500-square-foot, expertly-crafted home in the ultra-hot housing market of Denver, Colorado.

Over the course of 11 episodes, the series will cover the construction of their latest Mountain Modern-style home, from drawing-board design to move-in day. The series will also follow other projects the firm is working on, each with its own unique storyline, style, challenges, and homeowners. The eleven half-hour-long episode series is produced by This Old House productions with John Tomlin as executive producer.

“It’s incredible to have the team behind the most beloved home improvement series ever, “This Old House,” create an-all new Roku Original series with which we know viewers will instantly connect with,” said Dan Suratt, Vice President, This Old House, Roku. “Idea House: Mountain Modern” builds upon that legacy in a fresh way, authentically bringing viewers into the world of two young builders as they create memorable home designs in the Colorado Rockies. We’re thrilled to exclusively bring this show to audiences on The Roku Channel.”
