Spring is the best! It’s when everything outdoors comes back to life, I find new growth inspiring! On the dining room table, I have a group of plants that thrive in indirect sunlight. Our dining room is open to the rest of the house and it’s also in the center of our home so I wanted to have something low maintenance growing there.
I started propagating some of my favorite indoor plants to save money but I also didn’t want the look of test tube glass, so I purchased a set of elegant bud vases for the job. I arranged them in a little brass tray from Target.
It’s been four weeks, I changed the water once a week, and now I’m seeing the little roots pop out which means the clippings are ready to be transferred to a new planter with fresh soil. Yay!
The nice thing about glass is watching the slow growth as the roots pop out. It reminds me of when I was in elementary school and we set up science experiments in class to watch roots grown in the sunlight on the classroom windowsill. 🙂
I bought this set of heavy bottom glass vases with a subtle amber hue for my dining room table, they look a tad more elegant than plain glass tube vases.
Instead of the look of science experiments in test tube glass, consider using colorful or shapely bud vases nestled in a tray or grouped on a flat surface to propagate plants in your home too. Bud vases are often marketed to brides for their reception tables so you can find interesting collections on wedding supply sites or just doing an internet search.
Add a touch of style to your home and propagate while you do! A few favorites below…
diamond amber / pink ombre glass
six piece blue (also green and gray) / clear fluted set
bulb set (multiple colors) / pink set
pastel set / neutral recycled glass
