Located in Queensland’s sunny Bargara near the beach, this 1990s double brick home received the full makeover treatment recently courtesy of content creator, part-time renovator and mother of three Eleesha Quinn of The Quinn Girls. “The home’s location is absolutely perfect, situated across from the beach. But when we bought it needed a full turnkey renovation – inside, outside, the lot!” she says.
While the whole renovation process took three years, today we’re focussing on the home’s gorgeous pool area which saw the front yard of the home transformed from a neglected, jungle-esque space into a resort-like oasis. “The home had been abandoned for a while, so the outside was completely overgrown with fences falling down and the pool was like a swamp and in need of some work. There was a lot of wasted space too,” says Eleesha.
The biggest challenge was clearing out the overgrown greenery in order to turn the unused space into three functional outdoor zones: the pool area, pergola and firepit. “We saved a lot by giving the pool a facelift instead of replacing it and it was challenging putting decking around the pool but we are so happy with the result,” says Eleesha who engaged Emma from Emma Do Designs to assist with the transformation. “The best decision we ever made was using Emma to help us bring this space to life,” says Eleesha.
Eleesha sourced chic garden accessories from a variety of suppliers; Sunday Supply Co. green umbrellas, The Cabo Club luxe pool floats and a chic fire pit from Milkman are just some of the highlights. And as for Aleesha’s favourite part of the renovation? “I just love being able to look out my front windows and feel like I’m at a resort.”
