We first reported on cult fixture and fittings specialists Studio Ore back in 2021. Founder Daniel Lee launched his company after renovating his own house (see The Uncluttered Life in London). “When I undertook my renovation project in 2014, I envisaged beautiful brass taps that would showcase the natural properties of the metal and develop a unique character over time. Following many years of chrome and nickel, I felt it was time to bring the warmer tones of brass back into the bathroom. And then, after the interiors were featured on Remodelista, I received several emails asking where the taps came from, and so I decided to start making them for one-off orders.”
“Starting from a garage and then a workshop in Sussex, we now design and make a widening range of products that are influenced by industrial design and are as much about function as they are about aesthetics,” Lee says. Their latest offering? Chapter Two, a line of more traditional fixtures and fittings, starting with a traditional bath mixer; stay tuned, there’s more to come.
Here’s a look:
Above: “After many months of designing, prototyping, casting, machining, and polishing, our traditional bath mixer is now available for order,” Lee says. “This tap forms part of our Chapter 2 collection which we will be releasing similarly styled pieces in the coming weeks.”
Above: Prices start at £2,987.
Above: The fixture is available in Unlacquered Brass, Brushed Brass, Weathered Bronze, Matte Black, Off-white, Brushed Nickel, Polished Nickel, and Aged Iron.
