A grouping of objects, a successful vignette really is greater than the sum of its parts. At its essence, it’s a way of clustering your favourite items together in a way that makes them look stronger than each piece would on its own. And whether you’ve got a series of prized possessions or you’re looking to create something from scratch, there really are no rules as to what you can include in a vignette – homewares, art, feature flowers and travel mementos are all fair game. This week, I set my sights on the high street with a view to pulling together a couple of affordable looks that would work in a number of different corners of the home.
Gigi & Tom
Tonally similar, this collection of items is perfect for a bookshelf. From showcasing your favourite blooms to arranging books, the marble sculpture trio provides plenty of styling options. I’d pair the trinket bowl with the checkered tray while the wooden dice box set would add an element of surprise.
Adairs
I like the Mediterranean feel of this grouping which I think would be perfect on a credenza in an entryway or living room. The blue coral is the perfect colour complement to the orange and peachy tones while the Greek-themed sculpture brings the whole look together.
Kmart
Perfect for a mantle piece, this collection has a variety of heights as well as a pop of colour in the form of that gorgeous blue wave vase that also happens to look a lot more expensive than it is (I have it in my home and can attest that it’s even better in person). I would style the bobble candle holders on one end of the wavy tray to increase their impact.
