From a blush pink concrete bath to a minimalist rain shower head, rippled freestanding tub and an eco-conscious organic cotton towel range, there is a lot to get excited about with the latest bathroom trends.
Highgrove Bathrooms: Inspired by the ocean, the latest freestanding baths from Highgrove Bathrooms are aptly titled the Coral and the Wave. The matte white Coral is 1700mm in length and features graceful curves and intricate fluted detailing on the bath’s exterior while the Wave is rippled but its a much straighter design and comes in two lengths; 1500mm and 1700mm.
LOOP HOME: Made from 100 per cent organic Turkish cotton, LOOP HOME’s latest collection features bath towels, hand towels and bathmats in lovely, neutral tones. Each towel is fully reversible and finished in a 650gsm weave making it the perfect balance of softness and absorbency. LOOP HOME is one of only 20 Australian companies that’s products are certified as upholding the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
So that LOOP HOME products don’t end up in landfill, the brand has created a related entity called Re-Loop where customers can recycle their old towels back to the company and receive 8% of the initial purchase price as a store credit. The old products become upcycled into new products (such as woven blankets) and sold by LOOPH HOME under the Re-Loop brand. What a great, circular initiative!
Aquavira by IB: Available locally at Paco Jaanson, the Aquavira showerhead combines minimalist design with epic functionality and makes bathing a real luxury. Grand in scale, the generously sized shower head comes in three semi built-in models with various settings including rain, waterfall, chromotherapy, RGB lighting and nebulisation. Available in 12 luxe finishes and and two sizes, this shower head is designed to transform your bathroom into a spa-like oasis.
Nood Co: The architecturally designed concrete bath tub ‘Juno’ is very pretty indeed. Combining a sleek design with skilled craftsmanship, it’s a slight redesign and tweak of the Concrete Nation Oasis bath design which Nood recently acquired. Available in 21 bespoke colours, it can be paired with any basin in the range. Juno is a limited product and there will only be 100 units manufactured in the first 12 months. “She’s strong and beautiful, much like the Roman goddess she is named after.” $7,280.
VOLA: The year was 1970 and Vola was the first brand to introduce coloured tapware – orange and grey were the first two options FYI. Today, the range comes in an incredible 28 colours and finishes and spans many designs including the fabulous FS1 freestanding bath mixer with hand shower. The sculptural design adds a spa-like feel to the bathroom and the minimalist design suits any abode from mid-century houses to contemporary apartments.
Brabantia: Available in matte black, white and matte steel fingerprint proof finishes, the latest small bin from Brabantia is ideal for small spaces making it ideal for the bathroom. You can place it on the floor on its non-skid legs (it looks like a little cabinet) or wall mount it for a seamless look. Made from 55 per cent recycled material, and 98 per cent recyclable after use, the design has great eco-friendly credentials too. $110.
Victoria + Albert: After a successful launch at this year’s London Design Week, the Lussari range of baths and sinks is now available in Australia and it gives home owners and renovators plenty of choice when it comes to smaller spaces.
“Compact bathroom design is one of the trickiest challenges of interior design – everyone wants that luxurious, spa-like experience and the first thing that comes to mind is a grand statement bathtub, but rarely is there enough room for one. The new Lussari range fills a huge gap in the market and designers are going to love the possibilities this now brings to the industry,” says the brand’s style expert Fiona Gould.
Available in three formats (freestanding, back-to-wall and a corner design), the baths can be paired with a matching basin – the Lussari 55.
Beaumont Tiles: An extension of the brand’s large range of medium-format tiles, the Flute decorative tile boasts a beautiful concave charm thanks to an embossed surface. Available in delicate crisp white and moody greige colourways, the tile is designed around a 3D curved, semi-circled pattern that creates a dynamic surface for light to interact with.
“The Flute range can offer so much beauty to a room with its undulating surface. You could also try using the Flute White Embossed Satin as a beautiful bathroom feature wall, with hanging pendant lights, and a bath for a magical soaking experience,” says Beaumont Tiles design specialist Christie Wood.
