We bought the pink house this past summer, and I think this is actually my first time to share it here on the blog! In this post, I’ll share my holiday decor as well as what I’ve accomplished to personalize the home so far.
Since this is our part-time home, I am working on it in small chunks (every few months) as we visit our hometown.
For the holidays this year, I mainly shopped from my own garage instead of buying new. We ended up having most of what I needed and I only had to purchase a few things new.

We purchased this home already renovated. It had been in very brutal condition before (they showed us before photos) and they took it down to the studs and rebuilt much of the interior of the home. There are many pros to this. For us, the biggest pro was that it was move-in ready.
It was freshly painted, and for the most part, we liked the design choices. There were, of course, several choices we didn’t love. The biggest one was light fixtures. We swapped nearly every single light fixture out because they had used a lot of mid-century fixtures, and the house is from the 1920s.
The other choice that I don’t love is that they didn’t keep the crown molding and traditional moldings. Instead, they opted for the more modern “farm house”-style moldings. I don’t love them, but we decided to keep them since it’s expensive to change.
We might possibly add ceiling moldings back in the future. I’m between that and wallpaper that continues onto the ceiling for this room. Feel free to weigh in your opinion in the comments.

My favorite part of the remodel was the kitchen. I think they did an incredible job making it the most open and appealing kitchen that this home could possibly fit.
I love the floor-to-ceiling tile and I love the combination of extra upper cabinets and some open shelving, as well. The open shelves are so much fun to decorate.

The fireplace area is one of my favorites. This photo bugs me because I feel it needs a rug, but don’t worry—I have the rug waiting to go back with me on my next trip!
I would also love to swap out the black tile on the floor and get rid of the farmhouse mantle. Honestly, though, it’s so cozy and nice! I picked up these artificial candles. They look real and give a nice glow to our non-functional fireplace.
The small game table and two chairs were flea market finds. One of my most joyful traditions when I am in my hometown is going to a flea market (or three).

I love the dining room SO much. I found this antique chandelier on Etsy and it started a ripple effect of purchases, as I am also renovating our full-time home in Tennessee. I have really gotten into vintage chandeliers this year!
I would say that anytime you are about the drop $400 or more on an “old looking” new chandelier it’s worth spending more time trying to find a true antique. This chandelier makes the room for me. It became the centerpiece for all the other lighting I found.

The table is new, but sold out. I love the traditional style. This is the first time I have decorated an older home and I tried to stay true to the style the whole way through.
In the past, I would have put as much mid-century in as I could get away with, but I really enjoyed branching out and expanding my style when furnishing this home. It proved to be very influential on my other project as well!
I found these chairs at a flea market, and my mom and I painted them white. It makes me so happy that we’re already making many beautiful family memories in the pink house.
